Success for BESIX in new businesses: new concession signed in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi – 30 July 2008. The BESIX Group has recorded another success in its new businesses, by signing, in joint venture, a BOOT contract (Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer), with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, related to the financing, concept, construction and operation of two new waste water treatment plants for the city of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

New Contract for BESIX in the Netherlands

Rijkswaterstaat and Coentunnel Company BV signed the
contract for the “Capacity Expansion Coentunnel Route”. This
involves a so-called DBFM-contract (Design, Build, Finance en
Maintain) with a duration of 30 years and a total value of
approximately € 500 million.

The Group BESIX realized a turnover of EUR 1.56 billion during 2007, which means an increase of 25% compared with last year. With this a ‘historical’ record is broken. On the eve of its 100th anniversary, the Group maintains the intention to grow into a world player in construction and related industries.
